“Learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else.”
-Leonardo DaVinici
PAINTINGS
I was introduced to Plein Air watercolour painting by the award winning painter, Mignonette Cheng who happened to be my first year University professor in Art School. She invited me on an unforgettable, one week long watercolour trip to Scotland and I have been hooked ever since. I also was lucky to train under a Japanese master in the art of Sumi-e brush painting which allowed me to further develop my love for ink and watercolours in an outdoor setting.
MEDICAL ILLUSTRATIONS
As a medical illustrator by profession, I indulge in creating educational illustrations for journal publications, presentations and editorial pieces. My works span a variety of subjects, from surgical illustrations used to teach surgical residents to scientific illustrations for botanical and zoological textbooks and journals.
THE SPRING MOON JEWELRY
Inspired by organic forms and colours that naturally exist in nature, Farheen Ali is also a celebrated jeweller. Her stunning pieces of wearable art use a striking mix of iridescent shells, pearls, recycled metals and found objects, all woven together with copper and stainless steel wire, each with its own unique story to tell.
